Spring Football Scrimmage Set for Saturday

Georgia State will hold its Spring Football Scrimmage on Saturday, March 31 at the GSU Practice Complex, beginning at 12 noon.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and admission is free.

Head coach Bill Curry and the Panthers will conduct an intrasquad scrimmage as the team prepares for its 2012 season, GSU's first in the Colonial Athletic Association. Fans will get an up-close look at the team. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

1. Where will the 2012 GSU Football Spring Scrimmage be held?

The 2012 GSU Football Spring Scrimmage will take place at the GSU Practice Complex on Saturday, March 31  from 12 noon - 2 p.m. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m.

2. Where should I park for the event?

Parking is very limited at the GSU Practice Complex.  As such, we encourage you to park in the G Deck next to the Sports Arena and make the short walk over the GSU Practice Complex.  Parking in G Deck will be free of charge. There will be GSU Athletics staff members along your route to direct you.  The Georgia State MARTA station is also a short walk to the GSU Practice Complex.

In addition, there will be a shuttle for individuals requiring special assistance and families with small children.

3. Will there be seating available to watch the practice?

Yes, we will have limited bleacher seating.  You will also be allowed to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the grassy areas around the field.

4. I have never been to the GSU Practice Complex.  Is there an opportunity to see the interior of the Football Complex building?

Yes.  There is an opportunity to walk through the Practice Complex facility to catch a glimpse of the team meeting rooms, training rooms and locker room.

5. Will there be food available?

Yes, Panther Dining will have light concessions fare, soft drinks and water available for purchase.

6. Will I be able to tailgate around the Football Complex?

While tailgating will not be allowed on city streets or the G Deck, it is permissible to bring your own food and drink into the GSU Practice Complex.  Alcohol will not be allowed in the Complex.

7. What should I expect at the 2012 GSU Football Spring Scrimmage?

The spring practice session is an important time in the overall practice schedule.  It allows our team to focus on the fundamentals, making every session count.  During this behind the scenes look, the team will follow their regular practice schedule including stretching, drill work and will hold a scrimmage during the last portion of practice.  Coach Curry will guide you through the practice including what specific facet of the game the drills are focused on, areas of emphasis as well as what's new for the 2012 season.

8. Will there be restrooms available at the 2012 GSU Football Spring Scrimmage?

Yes, restroom facilities will be readily available.

9. Will I be able to purchase/renew my football season tickets at the 2012 GSU Football Spring Scrimmage?

Yes, Panther Sales Associates will be at the spring scrimmage.
