As many as 50 former Panther basketball letterwinners are expected on Saturday for Alumni Day.
Fans are invited to come enjoy a crucial doubleheader of basketball with the current teams and greet and see these former Panther student-athletes as they return to their home court.
The letterwinners roll call will go back to the first men's NCAA team from 1963-64 and the first women's NCAA team in 1975-76. Some of these will be inducted into the new Athletics Hall of Fame in April.
Panther basketball tips at Noon Saturday with the women, followed by the men's game at 2:30 p.m. The 33-year letterman Dave Cohen has the call on the GSU radio network if you can't make it to the games.
Get your tickets in advance as the Sports Arena has been filling up more and more. There was a capacity crowd a few weeks ago when the Panthers topped Georgia Southern in the Rivalry Game. Panther spirit is at an all-time high.
Both teams come into Saturday off wins on Thursday as nine games remain in Sun Belt play before the championships in March in New Orleans.
