 ATLANTA- The Georgia State men's tennis team earned its third straight win on Saturday with a 7-0 victory over Lipscomb. The Panthers improved to 3-1 while the Bisons fell to 0-3.

GSU opened the match strong with all three doubles teams recording a win.

Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andrukhou were the first pair to finish, with a 6-0 win over Rob Mitchell and Phillipe Courteau in the No. 1 match. Zackery Kennedy and Jack MacFarlane were the next to complete their match with a 6-3 win over Daniel Cardenas and Alejandro Manzanares. Felipe Jaworski and Jannis Koeke rounded out doubles play with a 7-5 victory over John Tougher and Thais Minet in the No. 3 match.

In singles play, the Panthers put up a fight with three players rallying from a 1-1 tie to win their match.

Jaworski was the first Panther to finish singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win over John Tougher. With the team up 2-0, MacFarlane was the next to earn a singles point in a 6-1, 6-4 win over Cardenas. The game-clinching point came Andrukhou with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Courteau.

In the No. 2 match, Kennedy won the tie-breaker over Manzanares 6-7, 6-3, 10-4. Joseph Bishop was the next Panther to win by tie-breaker, defeating Kauai Linardi 6-7 (1), 6-3, 10-6. Koeke was the final GSU player to finish singles play, with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over Mitchell in the No. 1 match.

The Panthers will be back on the court next weekend with a doubleheader at Georgia Tech and Emory on Feb. 14. The Georgia Tech match is scheduled to begin at noon, with the Emory match scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
