What You Need to Know
- The Panthers opened the season with a 7-0 win against UAB and a 6-1 win against Samford.
- Georgia State will play its third and fourth dual matches of the season this weekend in a trip to South Carolina.
- Friday, February 19 will mark the first home match of the season for the Panthers when they host FIU and then George Washington on Sunday, February 21.
ATLANTA – Georgia State will have an opportunity to make noise early in the season this weekend as the team travels to South Carolina. On Friday, the Panthers will face off against the Paladins of Furman. Furman holds a 2-4 record after dropping its second straight match to UNC Wilmington last week.
The Panthers will make a quick turn around and play South Carolina Saturday morning at 10 a.m. South Carolina (5-1) is the 29th ranked team nationally and has two players, (50) Paige Cline, and (110) Ingrid Gamarra Martins ranked individually as well.
Linn Timmermann looks to keep alive her strong start to 2016. She has already defeated a nationally ranked player this year at the Duckworth Winter Classic and went 2-0 in singles last weekend against Samford and UAB.
Niri Rasolomalala won all four matches she competed in last week. She secured two wins in singles play and with the help of teammates Tarani Kamoe and Lara Vovk, won both doubles matches.
