
Senior Markus Crider, who led the Panthers to a win over UL Lafayette last week, is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines.
Crider led the Panthers to a split of two games last week, averaging 16.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 11-of-13 from the floor and 10-of-10 from the free throw line. With the two games played, he moved into first place on Georgia State’s all-time games played list with 128.
He opened the week with 14 points and three rebounds in Georgia State’s 72-69 win at UL Lafayette. Crider shot 6-of-7 from the floor in 27 minutes, while holding ULL’s Shawn Long well under his season averages.
On Saturday, Crider finished with 18 points and three rebounds in 33 minutes at UL Monroe. He went 5-of-6 from the floor and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.
For the season, Crider is averaging 8.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor, among the top three in the Sun Belt.
Georgia State will return to the court on Thursday in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament facing No. 7 seed Texas State at 8:15 p.m. ET.
