Softball to Host ACC-foe Boston College

What you need to know:

* Georgia State looks to get back in the win column Wednesday against Boston College.

* The Panthers are 3-0 in midweek games this season.

* GSU begins conference play this weekend at Troy.

ATLANTA – Georgia State (11-10) plays at home for the fourth Wednesday in a row, this time hosting Boston College (12-8) at 3 p.m. at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

GSU is 3-0 this season in midweek games and already has one ACC win under its belt, a 3-2 victory over Georgia Tech in the home opener. None of the three wins have come easy, however. The Panthers needed 12 innings to defeat the Yellow Jackets and went to eight innings against Kennesaw State a week ago. In the other Wednesday contest against St. John's, Georgia State recorded an 8-7 walkoff win in the bottom of the seventh.

The Panthers were riding an 11-3 stretch before stumbling at the Wilson/Demarini Classic last weekend in Auburn, Ala. The Panthers dropped both games of a doubleheader to No. 3/4 Auburn to finish the tournament with a 1-3 record. Boston College has been hot as of late, winning seven in a row. The Eagles face Georgia in Athens Tuesday evening before making the trip to Atlanta.

This will be the second meeting all-time between the two sides. Boston College claimed the first meeting, a 6-5 decision, in 2002.

Admission to the Bob Heck Softball Complex is free to the public. Live stats can be found on GeorgiaStateSports.com. Follow along with Georgia State on Twitter (@GSU_Softball) for the latest news.
