ATLANTA- Riding on a four-game win streak, the No. 64 Georgia State men's team heads to Florida for a three-game stretch at UCF, North Florida and Florida Atlantic. The Panthers face UCF March 16 at 2 p.m., North Florida March 17 at 5 p.m. and Florida Atlantic March 20 at 11 a.m.
GSU opened conference play with a victory over UL Lafayette, taking an early lead by clinching the doubles point in the third set. The final three matches went unfinished to give the Panthers a 4-0 win over the Ragin' Cajuns.
The team is showing strong and consistent play, led behind doubles Zackery Kennedy and Jack MacFarlane and singles players Andrei Andrukhou and Jannis Koeke. Andrukhou and Koeke have both won two of their last three matches while Kennedy and MacFarlane have gone undefeated in the last three pairings.
Georgia State faces a 6-8 UCF team to open its road trip. The Knights are currently on a one-game win streak and have gone 2-2 in their last four matches. The last loss the team saw was a 4-0 defeat from ETSU on March 11.
North Florida is 3-9 for the season, going 1-3 in the past four games. Currently on a two game losing streak, the Ospreys last win came over then-No. 74 South Alabama on Feb. 28. The team faces GSU less than a week before heading to the USF Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
The Panthers face 8-7 Florida Atlantic on the final day of the road trip. The Owls are 0-1 in conference, and have gone 2-2 in their last four matches. The team faces Stetson and Sun Belt Conference team South Alabama before hosting the Panthers.
