ATLANTA- Freshman Jack MacFarlane was named Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday.
MacFarlane had an impressive weekend at the Middle Tennessee Shootout, earning two match-clinching wins for the Panthers. He went 3-0 in singles play, and 1-2 in doubles play with partner Zackery Kennedy.
GSU went 3-0 at the shootout, including a 4-1 win over then-No. 62 Middle Tennessee. MacFarlane's performance also helped the Panthers jump 14 spots int he ITA National Rankings, to a season-high No. 52.
A Ruislip, England native, MacFarlane is on a five-match winning streak for singles play and is 11-5 overall.
Georgia State will be back on the court on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. to face Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C.
