A select group of 15 Georgia State track and field athletes will compete Thursday through Sunday, March 31-April 2 in the 73rd Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Ga. The event, first held in 1939, is held at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track on the campus of Florida.
Competitors must all meet qualifying standards to enter, so the level of skill in comparable to NCAA postseason. The temperatures near 80, plus some Florida humidity, missed with a mondo track surface is challenging and conducive to good results.
GSU will have entrants in 10 running events and three field events over the three days.
The 15-member Panther squad will include Stephanie Berger, Ravin Gilbert, LaPorscha Wells, Kassandra Pierre, Sammi Donovan, Nuria Ramirez, Alysiah Whittaker, Katherine Randolph, Jasmyne Robinson, Jada Steward, Ashlan Rosier, Tyler Watson, Sydney Davis, Jordan Townsley and Brianna Archer.

On Thursday, GSU will start with the 400m hurdles at 3:45 p.m. with Kassandra Pierre and Tyler Watson running. At 9 p.m., Stephanie Berger will race in the 5,000m run.
On Friday, throwers LaPorscha Wells and Alysiah Whittaker will begin at noon in the hammer and discus. In the afternoon, Ravin Gilbert will run in the 100m and 200m preliminaries and/or finals. The 4x400m relay team will compete at 5 p.m. and the women's 3,000m steeplechase will conclude at 9:20 p.m. with Nuria Ramirez, Sammi Donovan and Jordan Townsley.
Saturday's events will include the shot put, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, 4x400m and 4x800m relay.
