• Georgia State is coming off a 10-6, come-from-behind win at Mercer Wednesday. The Panthers trailed 6-5 in the ninth when Joey Roach tied the game with an RBI-single and Jaylen Woullard brought home the go-ahead run with a bases loaded walk. Jack Thompson hit a three-run homer.
• UT Arlington leads the Sun Belt with a .303 team batting average, including three individuals (Quintin Rohrbaugh, Matt McLean, Brady Cox) in the top six, while reliever Jacob Moreland is the conference ERA leader (1.03 in 15 appearances).
• GSU swept three games at UT Arlington last season, including two extra-innings victories, and leads the series 4-2.
• The Panthers' March 20 win over Arkansas State was win No. 294 at Georgia State for head coach Greg Frady as he became Georgia State's career leader in victories, surpassing Mike Hurst, who won 293 games from 1993-2006. Frady now has 295 wins in his 10th season in Atlanta.
• Junior third baseman Jarrett Hood is the Panthers' leading hitter with a .432 average (second in Sun Belt), 22 RBI (fourth in Sun Belt), one homer and a Sun Belt-leading 12 doubles. He has hit safely in every game but two this season.
• Senior utility man James Clements is hitting .474 with eight RBI in six Sun Belt games.
• Junior reliever Bryce Conley is third in the Sun Belt in strikeouts with 35 in 27.2 innings.
• Senior catcher Joey Roach is one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. The two-time All-Sun Belt selection and Johnny Bench Award semifinalist is also a CoSIDA Academic All-American with a 3.89 GPA in actuarial science.
• Joey Roach is the Sun Belt's active leader with 172 career hits while ranking second in RBI (106) and tied for third in home runs (19).
• Georgia State has won five games in its final at-bat, including four, 10-inning walk-offs, compliments of Israel Zackery (walk-off single vs. Western Michigan), Will Kilgore (walk-off homer vs. Minnesota), James Clements (walk-off single vs. Arkansas State) and Jarrett Hood (walk-off homer vs. Savannah State).
SERIES VS. UT ARLINGTON: Georgia State holds a 4-2 lead in the series with UT Arlington, including a three-game road sweep last season. GSU won the Friday game 5-2, then earned a pair of extra-inning victories, 6-4 in 11 innings on Saturday and 2-1 in 10 in the finale. That is the Panthers' only three-game Sun Belt road sweep since rejoining the league in 2014, although GSU also earned two-game sweeps at Arkansas State and Appalachian State in 2015. Ryan Blanton was 7-for-15 in the series with four doubles, a triple and five runs scored, while Joey was 7-for-13. Logan Barnette earned two of the three wins in relief.
