What you need to know:
* Georgia State (19-15, 4-2 SBC) travels to Mobile, Ala. this weekend for a three-game conference series with South Alabama.
* GSU is third in the Sun Belt standings and USA is currently in second.
* The Panthers are looking to end a five-game losing streak to the Jaguars.
ATLANTA – Georgia State will make the trip to Mobile, Ala. this weekend for three games against South Alabama that could have shakeup the conference standings. The third-place Panthers come in at 4-2 in the Sun Belt while the Jaguars are 6-2 in second place.
Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 2 p.m. EST start and the two teams will wrap up there series Sunday with first pitch at 2 p.m.
LEADING OFF
• Georgia State is coming off a DH split at Furman on Wednesday. The Panthers sit at 19-15 entering the weekend and are 4-2 in the Sun Belt after series wins against Troy and Texas State.
• In the second RPI release of the season on March 28, GSU came in at No. 45 which ranks second-highest in the Sun Belt.
• Sophomore Ivie Drake leads the team in batting average (.381), slugging percentage (.711), on base percentage (.535), walks (31), doubles (6) and home runs (8). Drake was named an All-American as a freshman in 2015.
• Junior Kensey Caldwell leads the team with 25 RBI. Caldwell is slugging .432 this season, second-best on the squad. Senior Taylor Anderson is right behind her with 24 RBI. Anderson was named to the preseason All-Sun Belt team.
• GSU's pitching staff is led by senior Katie Worley and transfer sophomore Annie Davis. Worley has both a perfect game and no-hitter to her name this season and ranks No. 7 in the country in hits allowed per seven innings (3.59). Davis has two complete games this season to go with a 3.16 ERA.
• Katie Worley has 13 consecutive innings of scoreless softball under her belt entering the series.
• Ivie Drake has been walked 31 times this season, an average of .091 a game. She ranks No. 4 in the country in walks per game.
• Two Panthers were tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt team in catcher Ivie Drake and shortstop Taylor Anderson.
• Georgia State was voted by the conference coaches to finish third in the Sun Belt this season, the same position the team finished in last season.
• Georgia State has 992 wins since the first year of fast-pitch competition in 1985. The Panthers are trying to become just the 34th program to reach the 1,000 win mark.
