Panthers Head To The Big Easy For Top-10 Matchup

What you need to know:

* No. 8 Georgia State (17-4, 4-2 CCSA) travels south to New Orleans for four matches at Tulane's Green Wave Invitational.

* The Panthers will face two CCSA opponents in LSU and Tulane along with Houston Baptist and No. 7 Arizona.

* GSU only has eight remaining regular season contests before the CCSA Tournament in Emerson, Ga., April 22-24.


ATLANTA – Georgia State's eighth-ranked beach volleyball team has four matches in New Orleans this weekend at the Green Wave Invitational. GSU will face No. 7 Arizona, Houston Baptist and CCSA opponents Tulane and LSU.

Georgia State's first match of the weekend is Friday at 10:20 a.m. against the seventh-ranked Wildcats of Arizona. Friday will be the first meeting between the two schools. For the Panthers, the contest marks the third top-10 opponents in the last four matches.

The Panthers will also play Houston Baptist on Friday before back-to-back conference duals against Tulane and LSU on Saturday. GSU will play Tulane at 11:40 a.m. and LSU and 2:20 p.m. Georgia State faced the Tigers in Baton Rouge earlier this season and won 3-2. Saturday will be the first meeting of 2016 between Tulane and GSU.

The Green Wave Invitational will take place at White Sands in Metairie, La.
