• Georgia State faces the first of back-to-back Sun Belt road weekends with a trip to Little Rock.

• Sophomore first baseman Jack Thompson is the Sun Belt Conference Community Coffee Student-Athlete of the Week after he hit .625 (10-for-16) with two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored in four games last week, including wins over Mercer and UT Arlington.

• The Panthers lead the Sun Belt in scoring (7.1 runs per game) and on-base percentage (.392) while ranking second in home runs (25) and slugging (.435) and fourth in batting average (.296).

• Little Rock, hitting .299 as a team, features the league's top hitter in outfielder Ryan Scott, who is hitting .486 (second in Division I) with eight homers and 39 RBI.

• The Panthers' March 20 win over Arkansas State was win No. 294 at Georgia State for head coach Greg Frady as he became Georgia State's career leader in victories, surpassing Mike Hurst, who won 293 games from 1993-2006. Frady now has 297 wins in his 10th season in Atlanta.

• Junior third baseman Jarrett Hood is the Panthers' leading hitter with a .410 average (second in Sun Belt), 25 RBI (sixth in Sun Belt), two homers and a Sun Belt-leading 13 doubles.

• Junior reliever Bryce Conley is third in the Sun Belt in strikeouts with 41 in 32.1 innings. He leads the Panthers with five victories.

• Senior catcher Joey Roach is one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. The two-time All-Sun Belt selection and Johnny Bench Award semifinalist is also a CoSIDA Academic All-American with a 3.89 GPA in actuarial science.

Joey Roach is the Sun Belt's active leader with 176 career hits while ranking second in RBI (111) and third in home runs (21). He hit two homers in Tuesday's game at Auburn.

• Junior center fielder Ryan Blanton his three home runs in last Saturday's doubleheader vs. UT Arlington and now has six on the season and 15 in his career.

• Georgia State has won five games in its final at-bat, including four, extra-inning walk-offs, compliments of Israel Zackery (walk-off single vs. Western Michigan), Will Kilgore (walk-off homer vs. Minnesota), James Clements (walk-off single vs. Arkansas State) and Jarrett Hood (walk-off homer vs. Savannah State).

• Three Panthers were tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt team in catcher Joey Roach, center fielder Ryan Blanton and shortstop Justin Jones.

• This year's roster features 18 returning letterwinners and 17 new players, including five freshmen, two redshirt freshmen and 10 transfers.

THOMPSON EARNS SUN BELT HONOR: First baseman Jack Thompson is this weeks Sun Belt Conference Community Coffee Student-Athlete of the Week. The sophomore from Alpharetta, Ga., hit .625 (10-for-16) with two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored in four games last week. His three-run homer was the key blow in the Panthers' 10-6 win at Mercer. Then he went 9-for-14 with another homer, four RBI and six runs scored in the UT Arlington series, including a career-high four hits with three RBI and three runs in Game 2.

SERIES VS. LITTLE ROCK: After two years, the series between Georgia State is tied at 3-3, with each school winning two of three on its home field. Last season in Atlanta, the Panthers won the first two games, 13-8 and 12-5 before falling 4-2 on Sunday. In 2014, GSU took the middle game 3-2 but fell 14-7 on Friday and 7-2 on Sunday.
