ATLANTA- Riding on the longest win-streak of the season, the No. 51 Georgia State men's tennis team will head to Troy, Ala. to face the Trojans in the first of the final three matches this season. The Panthers will face their third Sun Belt Conference opponent on April 10 at 3 p.m.
The team has shown solid performances over the past few weeks, outscoring its opponents 28-5 in the past six games. Doubles play has been strong for GSU, with the Panthers only dropping one doubles point in their last five games.
Freshman Jack MacFarlane has been clutch for the team, earning the match-clinching point for the Panthers for four-straight games.
Sophomores Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andrukhou have also had outstanding performances, both going 3-1 in singles play over the past four games. The pair competes together in doubles play at the No. 1 position, earning three wins in the last four matches.
The 15-4 Panthers will face a 14-11 team in Troy, with the Trojans 1-1 in conference play. Troy is currently on a four-game win-streak, with the team's last loss coming from then-No. 16 USF. The Trojans will face South Alabama and Florida A&M before facing the Panthers.
