 ATLANTA- The No. 53 Georgia State men's tennis team saw its eight-match winning streak come to an end on Sunday, , falling 4-3 to UNCW. The Panthers dropped to 17-5 in their regular season finale, while the Seahawks improved to 10-8.

GSU stumbled in doubles play, losing the doubles point in the first two matches. Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andreukhou were the first pair to finish, falling 6-2 to C. Van der Burgh and Aviv Ben Shabat in the No. 1 match. Santtu Leskinen and Taylor Cramer clinched the doubles point for UNCW, defeating Zackery Kennedy and Jack MacFarlane 6-2. Felipe Jaworski and Jannis Koeke's match went unfinished due to the clinch.

In singles play, Jaworski tied-up the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Josh Hublitz. The Seahawks answered with Van der Burgh's 6-2, 6-4 victory over Kennedy. Acuna tied the match again at 2-2, defeating Shabat 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 4 match.

In the No. 1 match, UNCW pulled ahead of the Panthers when Koeke fell 7-5, 6-3 to Leskinen. Andrukhou was the third Panther to tie-up the match, earning a 7-5, 6-4 win over Agustin Savarino. In the final match, MacFarlane was defeated 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the tie-breaker set by Andres Torres.

Georgia State will be back on the court at the Sun Belt Tournament in New Orleans from April 21-24. The tournament bracket will beannounced Tuesday morning and GSU is expected to be the No. 1 seed based on the ITA rankings.
