Panthers Fight to 0-0 Draw

 ATLANTA- In a mid-week match up against Jacksonville State, the Georgia State women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.

The Panthers moved to 1-1-2 on the young season, to while the Gamecocks earned their first draw and are now 1-3-1.

GSU came out strong defensively, holding JSU to just three shots in the first half. Senior Alexis Thomas had an early shot for the Panthers, but a defensive block kept the ball out of the net.

Junior Brie Haynes had a key save to close the first half, keeping the score even going into halftime. Haynes had six total saves, just three shy of her single-game career high.

The team opened up the second half controlling the ball and taking six shots. Georgia State totaled seven shots overall on the night.

The Panthers will be back on the field on Friday to host Alabama A&M at 5 p.m., and will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. men's soccer match. Live stats will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com. Admission to the GSU Sports Complex is free of charge.
