ATLANTA- The Georgia State men's soccer team will host Lipscomb on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the GSU Soccer Complex, before hosting Central Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Panthers are 1-1 this season following a 4-1 win over Memphis Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Hannes Burmeister scored a hat trick in the second half to secure the win, and earned GSU Student-Athlete of the Week as well as Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
Sophomore Max Hemmings had the final goal for GSU against Memphis, scoring off an assist from Jad Elkhalil.
Lipscomb Preview
The Bison are 2-0 this season, earning wins over Florida Atlantic and Western Illinois. This will be the first road game of the season for the school from Nashville, Tenn.
The Panthers have faced Lipscomb eight times, and hold an 8-0 series advantage. The two schools were both members of the Atlantic Sun Conference for a brief period of time. The last meeting between the two squads was in 2014 and resulted in a 3-1 GSU win in Nashville.
Central Arkansas Preview
The Bears are 1-0 following a win over Green Bay on Sunday. The team will host Central Baptist College for its home opener before travelling to Panthersville.
This is the first time that the Panthers will face Central Arkansas on the pitch.
