BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Georgia State women's soccer team a tough match on Sunday afternoon at Western Kentucky, falling 4-0 to the Hilltoppers.
The Panthers dropped back to .500 on the season at 2-2-2, while WKU improved to 3-2.
Western Kentucky scored early in the match, putting GSU in defensive mode. Megan Morris scored in the 19th minute off an assist from Shayna Dheel, which was quickly followed by a goal by Chandler Backes less than five minutes later.
Backes scored with less than two minutes left in the first half, putting the Panthers down 3-0.
GSU came out of halftime looking to cut the deficit, but a goal by Christina Bragado put the Hilltoppers up 4-0 in the 67th minute.
Redshirt-junior Brie Haynes had four total saves for the Panthers, with two coming in each half.
Georgia State will return to the field at SE Louisiana for its final non-conference match of the season on Sept 11. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
