Panthers To Run in Lone Star State

What you need to know:

* Georgia State competes in Texas this week at the Gerald Richey Invitational.

* The Panthers run at 9 a.m. ET and the 5k will include six teams.

* GSU is coming off a second place finish at the JSU Struts Invitational last weekend.


 

ATLANTA. – Georgia State's cross country team will make the long trip to Grand Prairie, Texas this weekend to compete in the Gerald Richey Invitational, a 5k hosted by Sun Belt-foe UT Arlington.

GSU is coming off a second place finish at the season-opening JSU Struts Invitational last weekend in Oxford, Ala. The Panthers had four runners finish in the top 20 including freshman Angela Alonso who finished fourth out of 160 runners.

This week in Texas, the Panthers will be the only out-of-state school competing. GSU will run against a handful of Texas schools including UT Arlington, North Texas and SMU. The race is slated to begin at 9 a.m. ET and results will be posted online shortly after the conclusion of the event.
