ATLANTA- Redshirt-junior Brie Haynes earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday.
Haynes was the driving force behind two shutouts this weekend, helping to earn the seventh overall shutout for the team this season. Haynes played all 200 minutes in goal and had eight key saves to keep both opponents out of the net.
Her two saves were clutch in the 2-0 shutout of Coastal Carolina, the first conference win for the Panthers. Haynes has 62 saves this season, giving her a .838 save percentage.
Haynes ranks fourth in the Sun Belt for saves, and the Panthers are tied for first place for their seven shutouts.
