GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Georgia State women's tennis team traveled to the University of Florida to compete in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships presented by Oracle Rising Tennis Complex. Head coach Jason Marshall and the Panthers fared well against stellar competition down in Gainesville.

In the main singles draw, freshman Damira Muminovic defeated Georgia Southern's Giulia Riepe in straight sets of 6-3, 6-3. Muminovic went on to lose in the second round 6-2, 6-0 to UGA's Kennedy Shaffer.

After dropping her match to host Florida's Anna Danilina, junior Kristin Rehse ran the table in the back draw singles tournament with four victories. She ousted North Florida's Rafaela Gomez in the semi-final 6-3, 6-4 before falling to UGA's Caroline Brinson 6-1, 6-4 in the championship match Monday morning.

Rehse and Muminovic started off strong in the main doubles draw on Friday at 9 a.m. ET. The doubles pair proved too much for Central Florida's Emilia Granstrom and Natalia Serrano as the Panthers won the match 8-4.

In the second round, Florida's Josie Kuhlman and Belinda Woolcock advanced to the quarterfinals over Rehse and Muminovic by a final of 8-1.

Georgia State's Daniela Ramirez, Anastasia Grosheva and Tarani Kamoe each saw action in the first round of the main singles draw. The three fell in the first round to players from Florida International, Miami and Florida Gulf Coast.

This week, the Panthers will prepare for their final fall tournament at Piedmont Park. Georgia State will host Furman, Oregon and Middle Tennessee State Friday through Sunday. Further details are TBA.
