The Panthers improved to 11-6 overall while the Cougars fell to 3-8-3.
Both teams opened the match aggressively, trading possession and keeping the ball in the midfield. Freshman Frank Rosenwald led the team in shots in the first half, taking two of the team's nine shots. GSU outshot the Cougars 9-5, with the Panthers having three on target to CofC's one.

“I'm incredibly pleased with the team for their efforts and ability to gut out the win, maybe the most proud I've been all season,” head coach Brett Surrency said. “It was beginning to feel like one of those nights where a goal was going to allude us but the boys fought through and got a great home victory.”
The Panthers will be back on the field for their final home match of the season Saturday night as they host Hartwick at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com and admission to the GSU Soccer Complex is free.
