What you need to know:
* The Georgia State women's tennis team concluded its fall season Sunday afternoon with singles matches against Middle Tennessee State. The Panthers took four of the seven matches to finish the GSU Invite on a positive note.
* Kristin Rehse, Damira Muminovic, Lara Vovk and Tarani Kamoe each won a singles match versus their respective MTSU opponents. Oregon won all six of its singles matches in a sweep of the Furman Paladins to round out the GSU Invite.
* The Panthers will rest up and recharge their batteries ahead of an exciting spring slate in 2017.
CLARKSTON, Ga. – The Georgia State women's tennis team concluded its fall season Sunday afternoon. The Panthers finished the GSU Invite strong by taking four of their seven singles matches on the day.
Junior Kristin Rehse defeated Middle Tennessee State's Costanza Magazzini by a final of 6-3, 6-2. Damira Muminovic and Lara Vovk swept MTSU respective opponents Luisa Zerilli and Marta Peris in straight sets to give GSU its second and third victories on the afternoon.
Seasoned veteran Tarani Kamoe dropped her first set to Sarah Sediri before bouncing back to take the next two sets and the match 3-6, 6-2, and 6-2.
MTSU's Alory Pereira outlasted GSU's Daniela Ramirez 6-3, 3-6 and 7-5 as Ramirez hung tough and made Pereira earn every point.
The Oregon Ducks swept Furman in singles with each match ending in straight sets. Muminovic handed Oregon its only loss of the entire tournament Saturday with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Shweta Sangwan.
After an encouraging fall season with impressive performances at UGA, Baylor, Mercer and Florida, Georgia State will rest up and hit the reset button ahead of an exciting spring season in 2017.
