LAHAINA, Hawai'i – Junior Max Herrmann and sophomore Nick Budd each shot 68 on Saturday to lead the Georgia State men's golf team to a second round 4-under 280 at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic.
By shooting 19 strokes better than on Friday, the Panthers moved three spots and into 12th of 24 teams. Georgia State stands at 11-over par in a field that includes eight teams ranked in the top 50 of the latest GolfStat rankings.
Max Herrmann moved into a tie for 31st following his 68 which included six birdies. He stands at 1-over par entering the final round on Sunday.

“We played a lot better today,” head coach Joe Inman said. “The funny thing is that we still left a lot of strokes out on the course. We counted three double bogeys and still shot 4-under par. I think if we can put it all together on Sunday, we could go really low out here and finish the fall on a high note.”

Junior Alex Herrmann also shot a 72 and is tied for 81st at 7-over par entering the final round. Freshman Egill Gunnarsson rounded out the line-up with a 2-over 73 that included four birdies to sit tied for 104th at 11-over.
