ATLANTA- Georgia State men's basketball's Jeff Thomas is this week’s GSU Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines.
The sophomore guard literally had a perfect night at Middle Tennessee as the Panthers topped NCAA RPI No. 6 Middle Tennessee 64-56. Thomas went 5-for-5 from 3-point range, finishing with 15 points, one rebound, one assists, one block and one steal in 21 minutes.
The Norwalk, Ohio native led Georgia State from 3-point range as the Panthers went 10-of-20 to knock off their second NCAA RPI Top 10 opponent in the last three seasons.
For the season, Thomas is averaging 6.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, shooting 43.3 percent from 3-point range. He is tied for third on the team with 13 3-pointers.
