What you need to know:

* Georgia State competes in a pair of events this weekend in Birmingham, Ala. as UAB hosts a meet on both Friday and Saturday.

* GSU's was scheduled to compete at Clemson last week, but inclement weather kept the Panthers in Atlanta.

* Georgia State will compete in Birmingham for six events this season.

ATLANTA - After missing last week's event at Clemson due to weather, Georgia State's indoor track and field team will travel to Birmingham, Ala. to compete at the UAB Blazer Invitational on Friday and the UAB Vulcan Invitational on Saturday.

Georgia State produced eight top-10 finishes last season at the 2016 Blazer Invitational. LaPorscha Wells placed second of the 35 competitors in the weight throw with the third-longest throw in school history at the time.

At the 2016 Vulvan Invite, Wells tallied another top finish and GSU's runners earned second place finishes in both the mile and the 60m.
