BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Georgia State competed in Birmingham for the second day in a row. On Friday, the Panthers took part in the UAB Blazer Invitational, but Saturday was the Vulcan Invite, also hosted by UAB.
One day after breaking a school record in the weight throw, LaPorscha Wells won two events on Saturday. She won the shot put with a distance of 15.65m and won the weight throw with a throw of 20.87m. Alysiah Whittaker finished fourth in both of those events.
Jordan Townsley recorded two top-10 finishes including a third place finish in the 5,000m. Ashlan Rosier and Nylah Chavis each took home fourth place in the long jump and high jump, respectively.
Georgia State's next meet is the Emory Crossplex Invitational on Jan. 22 in Birmingham, Ala.
