Kennedy Earns SBC Honors

ATLANTA- Georgia State men's tennis senior Zackery Kennedy earned Sun Belt Co-Player of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

Kennedy will share the award with South Alabama senior Juan Cruz Soria. This is the first time this season a Panther has earned the award.

Kennedy went 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play, both at the No. 1 position. Kennedy scored the first point for the Panthers in a close 4-3 loss at Louisville, before putting GSU up 3-0 against Middle Tennessee. He and partner Andrei Andrukhou took down Morell and Moonen to give Georgia State a one-match advantage in doubles play against Middle Tennessee.

Georgia State will return to the court on March 12 at Elon in the first of four Carolina road matches.
