ATLANTA -- Kinsley Jennings had another impressive week in the circle to earn Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the second week in-a-row, powered by the U.S. Marines.
Jennings was lights out this week as Georgia State won the Sun Belt series at Texas State after getting a big road win on Wednesday at Georgia Tech. Jennings was 3-0 and allowed only four earned runs in 19.2 innings while striking out eight.
Jennings came on in relief Wednesday at Georgia Tech and held the Yellow Jackets to two runs to get the Panthers a big win on the road. Jennings then went head-to-head with the Sun Belt's highest RPI-ranked team twice on the weekend and came out on top in both contests. In Game 1, Jennings went 8.0 innings and gave up just two earned while getting five strikeouts. Her best performance of the week, however, was a complete-game shutout in Game 3 of the series to clinch the series win for GSU and propel the Panthers past Texas State and into second place in the Sun Belt standings.
Through 19.2 innings of work this week, Jennings gave up only three extra base hits.
