ATLANTA- The No. 40 Georgia State men's tennis team will face No. 32 Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon in the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional in its sixth appearance in NCAA Tournament Play.

The winner of the match will to face either UNC Wilmington or host Wake Forest on Saturday at 5 p.m. GSU enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, with Kentucky coming in at No. 2 and UNC Wilmington at the No. 4 seed.

The Panthers are 19-6 on the season and are riding on an 11-match win-streak, the second-longest in program history. A win over Kentucky would be the first NCAA Tournament win for Georgia State, and the first win in the series with the Wildcats.

GSU is performing solidly late in the season, with its last loss coming in late February. In the past 11 matches, only three have been decided with a one-point margin.

The team is led in singles play by Sebastian Acuna and Zackery Kennedy, with both student-athletes having at least 15 wins. Felipe Jaworski has clinched a team-leading five matches while Jannis Koeke holds the longest winning-streak for the Panthers with four, most recently clinching the Sun Belt Conference title and NCAA automatic bid.

In doubles play, Andrei Andrukhou and Kennedy are 8-1 at the top position and have clinched four doubles points this season.

Kentucky is 14-12 this season, most recently falling to Tennessee in the SEC Conference Tournament. The Wildcats are on a four-match losing streak, with their last win coming over Vanderbilt in March.

First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday at the Wake Forest Tennis Center, and play will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather. Live stats and live streaming will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com.
