Ploeg Scores Twice in Exhibition Finale

NORCROSS, Ga.- In its final exhibition match of the season, the Georgia State women's soccer team defeated the Presbyterian Blue Hose 3-1 Saturday afternoon. Junior Yvonne Ploeg scored the game-winner for the Panthers.

Georgia State went up early with junior Monique Hundley scoring at the four-minute mark. Presbyterian scored the equalizer in the 38th minute, tying the match 1-1 going into the half.

Ploeg scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 62nd minute and put the game away for the Panthers four minutes later.

The Panthers were able to rotate 20 student-athletes on the field, giving the team game-time experience heading into the regular season.

Georgia State will open the regular season on Aug. 18 at UAB. First kick is set for 8 p.m.
