Sophomore Frank Rosenwald scored his first of the season as the clock was winding down, scoring off an assist from Kwaku Adu-Boahene in the 84th minute.
The Panthers remain undefeated at the GSU Soccer Complex with the win, earning their fifth win of the season Saturday night.
“We're pleased with the win tonight,” head coach Brett Surrency said. “The guys came out and were focused, and they were able to beat a gritty Howard team. Anytime you can win at home it's great, and obviously a conference win is huge so we're pleased to be sitting at 2-0. Now, we'll try to rest up and get ready for UNC Asheville on Tuesday.”
GSU will hit the road for non-conference action on Tuesday, facing UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C.
