National Recognition for Manning; Vote for the GSU QB

ATLANTA -- Senior quarterback Conner Manning has earned national recognition after he passed for a career-high 446 yards and four touchdowns to lead a record-setting offensive performance in Georgia State's 47-37 victory at ULM. The Panthers' earned their third straight win, all on the road, by knocking off the previous Sun Belt leader and the hottest team in the league.

The Panther signal caller is a Manning Award Star of the Week, a Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award "Great 8" and a nominee for the FBS Football HERO of the Week.

The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, names eight quarterbacks as its “Stars of the Week.” College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET, the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.  VOTE HERE

The FBS Football HERO of the Week award from HERO Sports recognizes the best individual performances of the week for NCAA sports.

Fans can vote for this week's winner HERE.  The poll closes this Friday at 1 p.m. The winners will be announced Friday afternoon on Twitter.

Manning completed 26 of 35 passes for 446 yards, the second-highest single-game total in Georgia State history and the most for any Sun Belt quarterback this season. His four touchdown passes tied the GSU record.

The Lake Forest, Calif., native led the Panthers to the most profilic offensive day in Georgia State history with a school-record 670 yards of total offense and 47 points, the most ever for GSU against an FBS opponent.

Manning threw touchdown passes of 50, 25 and 22 yards to Penny Hart and 69 yards to Devin Gentry for the Panthers' longest pass play of the season.

He added 19 yards rushing for 465 yards of total offense.

Manning's prolific day also earned him a Helmet Sticker on ESPN College Football Final.

Manning and the Panthers (3-2, 2-0 Sun Belt) bring their three-game winning streak back home to Georgia State Stadium this week. After four consecutive road games--including three straight wins--and 51 days away, Georgia State hosts Troy for Homecoming Saturday at 2 p.m. at Georgia State Stadium.
