STARKVILLE- Georgia State women's tennis lost 4-1 to Mississippi State. The loss dropped the Panthers to 5-4 on the season.
GSU got off to a rocky start, losing doubles point. The Panthers would respond in singles play winning the first set on three of the six courts. Partway through the singles action a storm swept through Starkville causing a three hour rain delay.
After the rain stoppage, senior Kristin Rehse finished off her opponent winning 6-2, 7-6. The rest of the Panthers were unable to carry the early momentum through the delay.
The loss snapped a four match win streak for Georgia State. GSU will travel to Florida next weekend for three matches in Fort Myers.
