ATLANTA – Georgia State student-athletes achieved a 3.16 grade point average for the spring semester, with 184 individuals earning academic honors, including an all-time high 53 Panthers on the President's List.
The 3.16 grade point average marks the 22nd consecutive semester, dating back to 2008, that the Panthers have maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher, and it gives the athletic department a 3.11 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year.
Eight Georgia State programs earned a team GPA of 3.5 or higher for the spring, led by the women's cross country team at 3.90 and the women's tennis team at 3.85.
Other top performing teams include beach volleyball (3.76), women's golf (3.70), softball (3.52), court volleyball (3.51), men's soccer (3.51) and men's golf (3.50).
Individually, 53 student-athletes who achieved President's List status, Georgia State's highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher. That is the highest number of President's List honorees on record.
Sixty-nine individuals reached Dean's List status with a semester GPA of 3.5-3.99, and another 62 student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher.
