July 7 - Just like a new football team and a new band, GSU will unveil its new 32-member football cheerleading team for the Inaugural Game on 09/02.
On May 15, open tryouts were held for GSU students and the teams were selected for football and basketball cheer teams. The 32 students chosen come from six states and 21 cities throughout Georgia.
Sophomores Jasmyn Santiago (Henry County HS) and Breona Evans (Central Gwinnett, Lawrenceville) will be among those leading the cheers at the historic Inaugural Game.
The cheerleading teams are under the direction of Brooke Svoboda.
Breona and Jasymn know where they and the rest of their team will be in 57 days on Sept. 2 when the Panthers of GSU play the Inaugural Football Game at the Georgia Dome.
