Georgia State women's tennis swept a pair of matches against Birmingham foes on Friday. The Panthers are now 5-3 on the season with four straight wins. GSU defeated UAB 4-2, and followed it up with a 4-1 win over Samford.

Fresh off two straight wins, Georgia State women's tennis is headed west to Birmingham for a pair of matches on Friday, followed by a trip to Starkville to take on Mississippi State on Sunday. The Panthers will take on UAB 11:00 am and Samford at 4:00 pm Eastern on Friday. Matches will either be played at UAB or at Samford depending on the weather. Sunday's match will be at Mississippi State and start at 1:00 pm.

Georgia State women's tennis is back in action this Saturday with a pair of matches in Atlanta. The Panthers will take on Emory at 10:00 am and Coastal Carolina at 3:00 pm. Both matches will be held at Emory's Woodruff P.E. Center Tennis Courts and may be played on the indoor courts depending on rain.

Georgia State women's tennis returns to the courts this weekend for a neutral site match against Oregon. The Panthers will take on the Ducks at noon on Saturday at Georgia Tech's Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

Former Panther Earns ITF Grant

Former Panther Abigail Tere-Apisah has once again been selected as a recipient of the International Player Grand Slam Grant. This is Tere-Apisah's second straight year receiving the grant. She is one of 29 players from 20 different nations to earn the honor.

GSU Splits Doubleheader

Georgia State women's tennis split a pair of matches Saturday to close out the season's opening weekend. GSU was defeated 4-1 by Oklahoma, but bounced back in the night session to defeat ULM by the same score. Senior Kristin Rehse led the way with a singles victory and a doubles win on the day.

Georgia State women's tennis is looking to make the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons. The road to the postseason begins this weekend with a trio of difficult matches for GSU. The Panthers will be in Auburn taking on the Tigers Friday night, before battling Oklahoma and ULM on Saturday.

Panthers Finish Preseason Play

Georgia State women's tennis finished off preseason play Sunday afternoon at the Metroplex Mania. GSU fell to host SMU 5-0 in singles play. Kristin Rehse, Daniela Ramirez, and Damira Muminović all picked up singles victories during the weekend play. Rehse and Ramirez each forced third sets in Sunday's finale.
