Georgia State volleyball closed out the GSU Invitational with a four set win over Davidson on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers defeated the Wildcats 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20. The win improved GSU to 6-7 on the season, and gave the Panthers a 2-1 record in the tournament.

Panthers Split in Home Opener

Georgia State volleyball split a pair of matches Saturday in day one of the GSU Invitational. The Panthers opened the 2017 home campaign on a high note with a win over South Carolina State in three sets. In the nightcap GSU would battle hard in a loss to Wofford College (19-25, 22-25, 25-17). Georgia State is now 5-7 on the season, 1-1 at home. Georgia State will wrap up the 2017 non-conference season tomorrow against Davidson.

Panthers Edge Eagles in Double Overtime

The Georgia State Panthers defeated the Winthrop Eagles 3-2 in double overtime Saturday afternoon as the team closed home September play. Senior Rashid Alarape scored the first and last goals, posting the game-winner for the second time this season.
