Steve Wojcikowski, a member of the Georgia State Athletics Department since 2013 with more than a decade of experience in athletics administration, was named assistant athletic director for football operations in July 2016.
Wojcikowski originally joined the GSU staff as in January 2013 as assistant athletic director for facilities and operations. In that role for three-plus years, he was responsible for Georgia State's athletics facilities, both on and off campus, as well as event management for all sports.
He also oversaw the solicitation of all outside contractors, the department budget, preparation of budget reports, game operations reports and customer service procedures in compliance with Georgia State policies.
Prior to joining Georgia State, Wojcikowski served a second stint at Marshall in Huntington, W.Va. as the director of athletic events. He was the game operations manager for the Thundering Herd's 16 Division I athletic programs and served as the liasion between the athletic department and Sodexho services and Daktronics. He was the event coordinator and facility manager for Marshall's 38,000-seat John C. Edwards Stadium (football) and the 9,000-seat Cam Henderson Center (men's and women's basketball) on game days.
Wojcikowski started at Miami (Fla.) as assistant director of athletic events. He was the event coordinator for the Hurricanes' baseball, volleyball, swimming and diving and rowing athletic programs, including serving as the event coordinator for the baseball team's 2008 regional and super regional. He assisted the operations staff with the football, men's and women's basketball, soccer and track and field programs.
Wojcikowski earned his master's degree in sport administration from Marshall in 2008 while working as a graduate assistant in the athletic facilities management and game day operations department. During this time he maintained all athletic facilities and general upkeep and coordinated the set up and break down for all athletic department events. He was the head grounds crew supervisor for the University Heights baseball field.
Wojcikowski graduated from Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y., with a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2005. He is married to the former Amanda Smith.
