Rappole joined the GSU Academic Support/Student-Athlete Development staff in the summer of 2015. He spent the previous year as an academic mentor at Georgia.

He had been a visiting professor at Georgia State in the Sports Administration master’s program for two years and also taught undergraduate Sports Management at Georgia for three years.

Rappole earned his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina (’05), then achieved a Juris Doctor upon graduation in 2009 from Washington & Lee Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Rappole achieved a Ph. D. in Kinesiology, Sports Management (’13) from Georgia.

He earned his N4A Individual Certification for the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletes. In addition, Rappole is Adult CPR/AED Certified by the American Red Cross.

As a collegiate student-athlete, Rappole was a cross country and track distance runner, first at Villanova (’01-’03) and then at North Carolina (’03-’05). As a competitor in the 3,000m, the 5,000m and the steeplechase, his teams finished third in the Atlantic Coast Conference championships in both 2004 and 2005. He is still an avid runner, competing and winning XTERRA Trail Runs.

Born in western New York state (Bemus Point), Jesse McLaughlin Rappole graduated from Maple Grove High School. He met his wife, Georgia, who was also a student-athlete in track and cross country at North Carolina.
