ATLANTA--Georgia State men’s basketball coach Ron Hunter will once again compete in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge with the goal of winning $100,000 for Samaritan’s Feet.

Now in its seventh year, the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge will bring together 48 of the top coaches in the nation to compete for $349,000 for their favorite charities. The program includes a $100,000 donation to the winning coach’s designated charity.

“Samaritan’s Feet continues to be a huge part of my life,” Hunter said. “I think our fan base knows how important the organization is to me and what it has done for our program. I am thrilled to be competing again and hope that our fans will vote to support Samaritan’s Feet as well as they support Georgia State.”

Beginning January 2, fans will decide who the winner is over a four-round, 10-week period, casting votes on a custom online microsite at  http://www.infinititimeout.com/. Voters can cast their votes for one coach’s charity each day online. Fans can also vote using Twitter and Instagram once each day.

On Twitter, fans can vote by using #Timeout2Vote and the Coach’s Challenge hashtag. Retweets meeting the same criteria will count.

On Instagram, fans can post a photo of themselves calling a game time-out and include two (2) hashtags: #Timeout2Vote and the Coach’s Challenge hashtag.

The first round of voting takes place January 2 and runs through January 21, with half of the coaches advancing to a second round, held between January 22 and February 11. From February 12-25, the 16 advancing coaches from round two will compete in a third round where only four coaches advance to the final, fourth round. From February 26 to March 10, fans on the final four coaches with the top vote-getting coach and charity announced on March 11.

While there can only be one winner, Infiniti has guaranteed each coach a donation of at least $1,000 to their charity of choice, with the amount donated increasing the longer they stay in the competition. The Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge will be promoted each week through a wide range of media. ESPN will be promoting the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge across many different platforms including ESPN broadcast, ESPN.com and several social media sites.

Georgia State will return to the court on Thursday hosting Little Rock at 7:15 p.m., in the GSU Sports Arena live on ESPN3. Tickets are available by visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com.
