*The Panthers will get ready to compete at the Sun Belt Tournament next weekend in Peachtree City.
ATLANTA- Georgia State women’s tennis has cancelled their regular season finale with Marshall due to heavy rain in the forecast. With the cancellation, the Panthers will have a full two weeks to rest before the Sun Belt Tournament next weekend in Peachtree City.
Jason Marshall’s team will finish the regular season with a 9-14 record that includes a win over No. 31 Kansas State. GSU will head into tournament play with a 3-3 mark against Sun Belt opposition.
Leading the way for the Panthers has been senior star Kristin Rehse. Rehse has racked up 16 wins on the season, 14 of which have come playing in the number one flight. Kristin has won five straight singles matches.
Damira Muminović and Daniela Ramirez are both 13-7 on the season. Ramirez has accumulated a 5-0 record when playing in the two flight for GSU and Muminović is 10-3 as State’s number four singles player.
The Sun Belt Tournament will be played April 19-22 in Peachtree City, Georgia. Tournament schedules and seeding will be announced early next week.
