Jessica Peters has been a member of the Georgia State athletics staff since 2010 and is currently serving as the senior head athletic trainer. She is the head athletic trainer for women's basketball and men's golf programs along with providing services as the drug testing and PPE coordinator.
In 2005, she graduated with honors from the Texas A&M-Commerce with a B.S. in Athletic Training and Health.
Peters accepted an internship at Jacksonville in 2006, serving as the athletic trainer for the women’s soccer, crew and tennis teams. While working for her Masters of Human Performance at California University of Pennsylvania, she completed her credentialing from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. In her first season with the Dolphins, the women’s soccer team advanced to the NCAA College Cup.
After completing her master’s degree in the summer of 2007, Peters joined the Jacksonville sports medicine team as a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer for the volleyball and softball programs. She served as the research administrator for the concussion-testing project in coordination with Dr. Thomas Terrell.
She served four years as a member of the Jacksonville Sports Medicine Staff, spending her final two years with the men’s basketball team helping them advance to the post season NIT Tournament both seasons.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Peters is a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the State of Georgia Department of Health, a Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification, and a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is also a member of NATA, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. She currently resides in Atlanta.
