Men's Tennis Adds Nebraska Transfer

ATLANTA--The Georgia State men's tennis team announced the arrival of a former University of Nebraska standout, Robert Schulze, as an addition to the team beginning this fall.

Schulze transfers to Georgia State after a successful two years at Nebraska, the former home of new GSU men's tennis head coach Joerg Barthel. Schulze brings a successful doubles game and adds a solid singles player to the Georgia State lineup.

"I am extremely excited to have Robbie transfer to GSU" first-year head coach Joerg Barthel said, "We have worked together for two years at Nebraska and he had a breakthrough Big 10 season last year. He brings a wealth of experience to our program and will be a great addition."

Schulze earned a 28-17 record in doubles play across his two seasons of play. He went 15-9 in doubles last season, the second most doubles wins on the team. Combined with fall results, Schulze owns a 35-21 record in doubles for his career.

The Frankfurt, Germany, native won 12 matches across two seasons in singles play during the dual-match season. He primarily played in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions.

Georgia State begins its fall season in early October.
