ATLANTA – Georgia State Athletics, along with NeuLion – an industry leader in the creation and maintenance of official athletic websites, on-demand and live video streaming, and mobile applications for colleges and universities – has re-launched GeorgiaStateSports.com to give fans a more streamlined look and approach to all things Panther sports.
The overall design will have a lighter feel to it and will allow Georgia State provide better ways to inform our fans, donors and recruits on a daily basis. Among the changes:
- The design allows for more interaction with more prominent display of photos and videos on both the home page and sport landing pages
- New buttons across the top that offer easier and quicker access to GSU social media accounts as well as live statistics, video and audio
- Streamlined navigation for finding information on each individual sport in a more methodical way
- Easier access to buy tickets, donate and shop for Georgia State gear
- Integration of the @GSUPanthers Twitter account on the home page to track all tweets
- Better layout and access to links and multimedia within article pages to allow more engagement for fans
As a part of the roll-out of new content, Georgia State Athletics will also launch a new blog in July. It will run side-by-side with GeorgiaStateSports.com, but give more of an inside look into athletics with blog posts from coaches, student-athletes and administrators to highlight behind-the-scenes action.
“It is an exciting time for Georgia State Athletics,” said Ike Fullard, GSU Associate A.D. for Corporate Sales and Sponsorships. “Following a year in which we had a record number of hits to our website, we believe that this redesign will continue to better our fan experience in a new era of GSU Athletics. This is the first step to improving all assets of the digital experience to our students, alums and fan base.”
"We are excited to help one of our long standing partners, Georgia State, grow its digital presence even further by re-launching their official athletic website," said Ed O'Brien, Vice President of NeuLion. "As the premiere online destination where fans go for the latest information on their favorite team, it is crucial the site reflects everything the Panthers represent with easy, convenient access directly at their fingertips. NeuLion has worked extensively with Georgia State to ensure the new site meets their fans expectations and keeps them coming back for more."
Georgia State moves into the Sun Belt Conference for all sports on July 1 and kicks off fall camp for football on Aug. 3. In the coming months, there will be more focus put on telling the stories of the student-athletes, coaches, administrators and alumni of the athletic department through articles and videos as well as a deeper integration with social media.
