AT GEORGIA STATE: Moved to linebacker in the spring after lettering the last two years at running back ... Changed jersey numbers from 28 to 38 ... UAB transfer who enrolled in January 2015  … Spent the 2014 season as a redshirt at UAB.

2016: Played in 10 games and rushed for 104 yards on 36 carries ... Scored on a 2-yard run at South Alabama, when he carried 10 times for 30 yards ... Had 29 yards vs. Arkansas State and 21 vs. ULM.

2015: Started three games at running back ... Rushed for 320 yards on 75 carries (4.3-yard average) and scored two touchdowns. Also caught eight passes for 84 yards.

Made his GSU debut vs. New Mexico State, after injuries to top three backs, and rushed for 49 yards on 12 carries, all in the second half, to help the Panthers to the 34-32 win ... Added 42 yards on just six carries at No. 12 Oregon, highlighted by a 20-yard run ... Rushed for 23 yards and had career highs with five receptions for 48 yards in win at Ball State ... Scored his first touchdown on a 2-yard run at Arkansas State, when he rushed for 32 yards and had two catches for 28 yards ... Career-high 85 yards rushing on 14 attempts vs. ULL. Had a 33-yard run down to the 3-yard line to set up a touchdown ... Scored the go-ahead touchdown in win over South Alabama on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Dora High School, playing running back and defensive end for coach Johnny Kirk … Rushed for 1,300 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior at Dora but was injured as a senior … Also played basketball.

PERSONAL: Full name is Demarcus Laquan Kirk ... Son of Vera Parker ... Major is interdisciplinary studies.
