Regular-Season Finale is Officially Sold Out

ATLANTA – The Georgia State men's basketball game on Saturday, March 7 at the GSU Sports Arena is officially sold out as no more public tickets were available as of 11 a.m. Thursday morning.

Over the past week, a strong surge of fan interest has surrounded the contest, which includes two teams entering the week tied for first place in the Sun Belt standings. The regular-season championship along with the top seed in the Sun Belt tournament could be decided in the Sports Arena this weekend.

This marks the second straight season the Panthers have had a sell out in the regular-season finale. Last year, Georgia State had already wrapped up the league title and was on its way to a 17-1 conference mark with a postgame celebration already announced. This time, the Panthers have to play on the road Thursday night – against the other team that entered the week tied for first place in UL Monroe – and then at home on Saturday with their conference postseason fate in their hands.

Overall, this is the third official sellout for a GSU basketball game. In addition to the 3,870 fans who attended last year's finale against Western Kentucky (a 73-55 GSU win), the Panthers' first sell out came in 1989 against Stetson on Feb. 4 (also a Panther victory).

Tipoff Saturday for Senior Day is at noon for the women's game and 2 p.m. for the men's game (or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game). No more women's single-game tickets will be available as well, as those tickets can also be used for GA admittance to the following men's game.
