Ali joined the Athletics Business Office in the spring of 2015 as an Accountant I and was has served as Business Manager since May 2016.

He came to GSU after two years as a contract analyst at Centene Corporation in the healthcare industry. Ali served an 11-month internship with NCAA Digital and an 8-month internship in the Athletics Department.

Ali earned his undergradutate degree in finance at Georgia State in the Robinson College of Business, then earned a master's degree in sports administration at GSU in 2012.

The 6-foot-5 Ali played a school-record 126 games with the Georgia State basketball team and was a two-time team captain. Ali scored 923 points and grabbed 492 rebounds in his four-year career in the GSU blue and white.

Ali was honored with the Colonial Athletic Association's Dean Ehlers Leadership Award. He was also the Georgia State male Student-Athlete of the Year as a senior and earned All-Academic honors.

The 27-year old (May, 1989) is an Atlanta native and was DeKalb County Player of the Year at M. L. King High School.
