GSU Heads to Tennessee for Weekend Series

What you need to know:

*The No. 66 Georgia State men's tennis team heads to Tennessee for a three-game series against South Alabama, UAB, and No. 62 Middle Tennessee.

*The Panthers look to stay perfect in conference as they face South Alabama for their second Sun Belt match of the season.

*The team will face South Alabama on March 25, UAB on March 26, and Middle Tennessee on March 27.


 ATLANTA- Coming off a 2-1 spring break trip to Florida, the No. 66 Georgia State men's tennis team (10-4, 1-0) heads to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for a three-day series against South Alabama, UAB, and No. 62 Middle Tennessee beginning on March 25 at 10 a.m.

The Panthers are looking to build off a 4-0 shutout at Florida Atlantic and a 4-2 victory over North Florida, where junior Zackery Kennedy and sophomore Sebastian Acuna both had match-clinching singles wins. Acuna earned the Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance.

Georgia State will go into the series as the only Sun Belt Conference team with a national ITA ranking and will face their second conference team on March 25. The Jaguars are 12-7 this season, and the Panthers will be their first Sun Belt opponents.

GSU will face UAB on March 26 at 10 a.m. for day two of the series. The Blazers are 9-6 this season and are coming off a 4-0 loss at UCF. The team will face Middle Tennessee before facing Georgia State.

The last match of the series will put Middle Tennessee and Georgia State against each other, with the match set to start at 2 p.m. The Blue Raiders enter the match at 13-3 and on a four-game win streak. The team will face South Alabama and UAB before facing the Panthers.

This will be the first three matches of a seven-match road schedule, before facing UNCW at home for the last match of the regular season. Live stats will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com for the Middle Tennessee match.
