What you need to know:

Georgia State improved to a winning record Thursday with a 5-2 victory over Cincinnati in Dallas, Texas.

* The Panthers (7-6, 0-1) took down the Bearcats with help from solid performances during singles play. After dropping the doubles point, GSU took five of six singles matches from Cincinnati.

* GSU will for its first conference victory when Sun Belt Conference play continues this Saturday against UT Arlington.

DALLAS, Texas – Georgia State took down the Cincinnati Bearcats with a dominating 5-2 victory out in Dallas Thursday afternoon.

The Panthers (7-6, 0-1) took five of six singles matches from the Bearcats (7-6, 0-1) after dropping the doubles point.

Kristin Rehse, Arina Taluyenko, Daniela Ramirez, Damira Muminović and Tarani Kamoe all earned singles victories in straight sets to propel the Panthers.

Ramirez’s 6-4, 6-1 win over Cincinnati’s Antonella Bramato clinched the neutral match for the Panthers.

Rehse and Taluyenko secured GSU’s only doubles victory on the day with a 6-1 win in the No. 1 flight.

Taluyenko is the first Panther to hit double digits in singles wins and pushed her record to 10-2 on the season. Rehse notched her seventh win this season and Kamoe registered her second win this season in three days.

GSU will look for its first conference win this weekend as it travels to UT Arlington Saturday. First serve between the Panthers and Mavericks is set for 11 a.m. ET.
